ray daviesIl leader dei Kinks è più che mai sulla breccia: per registrare il suo nuovo cd si sta avvalendo di artisti provenienti dalle più disparate contaminazioni musicali : Franck Black e i Mumford & Sons sono in studio col leggendario chitarrista così come Amy Mc Donald e Paloma Faith. I Killers invece, sembra abbiano declinato l'invito. Anche Bruce Springsteen ha voluto dare il suo contributo, registrando una nuova versione di "Better Things" dei Kinks stessi lo scorso gennaio. Ed anche Bon Jovi non si è tirato indietro: la canzone "Celluloid Years" è il frutto di un inedito duetto. Ancora: Lucinda Williams e Alex Chilton (prima della sua scomparsa, ovvio), hanno lasciato traccia di sè in un paio di brani. Da ultimo, sembra che Billy Corgan stia lavorando sul remake di "Destroyer", album dei Kinks datato 1981. Il nuovo disco, che si intitolerà semplicemente "Ray Davies", uscirà a fine 2010.
