benkeithBen Keith, collaboratore di Neil Young da oltre un quarantennio, è morto per un infarto all'età di 73 anni (nella foto, è a sinistra, seduto). Young lo ha saputo mentre si esibiva a Winnipeg, così ha deciso immediatamente di dedicargli "Old Man", brano tratto da "Harvest", uno dei dischi più belli del cantautore canadese che vede protagonista la steel guitar di Keith stesso: "Questa è per Ben Keith, che il suo spirito viva a lungo", ha intonato commosso ed emozionato. Jonathan Demme, regista e collaboratore di Neil Young nel film concerto "Heart Of Gold" del 2006, ha confermato che Keith è deceduto a Los Angeles il 27 luglio scorso. Ben Keith è stato anche un grande protagonista della scena country di Nashville e vanta collaborazioni illustri con musicisti del calibro di Emmylou Harris, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Band, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr e Linda Ronstadt.
