L'ex Teardrop Explodes ha inciso una ventina di album e pubblicato sei libri, compreso il bellissimo “Krautrocksampler". Dischi come “Fried”, “Saint Julian” e “Peggy Suicide” sono rimasti nell'immaginario collettivo di tutti quelli che lo hanno amato negli anni 80/90. Due anni fa ha pubblicato “Black Sheep”, considerato uno dei suoi migliori album di sempre. Dopo gli eccessi della sua gioventù, oggi Julian è considerato un pensatore illuminato e gode di grande stima nell'ambiente musicale e letterario.
